First incident of physical abuse leads to divorce.

July 26, 2026 - Throwing Them Out of the House
The weekend of July 25-26, 2026 was one of Typhon's custodial weekends. As I explained in an earlier post, only Ursula and Peter decided to go to Typhon's house that weekend. Huck didn't want to go after what Typhon did the week before and the previous Sunday night, and Ramona never wants to go. Bear with me - it's a bit of a set up before we get to the incident itself. The provision about how to handle summer break in our Custody Agreement is a little complicated. The ki

August 21, 2026 - Refusing to Take No For An Answer - Part 1
This is so typical Typhon, and I'm still learning parts of the story. On the morning of August 21, Typhon and I had a scheduling hearing on one of the many Petitions for a Rule to Show Cause he has filed against me in our divorce case. A Petition for a Rule to Show Cause is essentially a motion to find me in contempt of court for doing something that violates our divorce agreement. I have not done anything that violates our divorce agreement, but he likes to harass me by t

August 7, 2026 - Bringing It On Himself
On September 19, 2025,--while the divorce was still pending--Typhon was ordered to pay $3,198 per month (starting on October 1st) in interim child support. Unsurprisingly, Typhon didn't pay a cent of it. I filed a Petition for a Rule to Show Cause, which is basically a motion asking the judge to find the other party in contempt of a judicial order, in December 2025, on the basis that Typhon hadn't been paying his child support. The scheduling hearing for the Rule to Show C

Friday, July 24, 2026 - The Set Up
Although Typhon ghosted the kids during his designated week of July 20-24, that following weekend was still his custodial weekend. Atticus filed an Order to Show Cause in my divorce case a while back to get Typhon to pay the child support arrears he owes me, as well as his share of reimbursed healthcare expenses (i.e., co-pays, prescriptions, etc.) that Typhon has so far refused to pay me. Friday, July 24th was the scheduling hearing for the Order to Show Cause, meaning th

Sunday, July 19, 2026 - Ghosting His Kids
The weekend following Typhon's antics at the Girl Scout camp was my custodial weekend with the kids. The following week (July 20-24), though, was one of Typhon's designated summer weeks with the kids. Because we both work, I have always agreed to do the exchange on Sunday evening even though the summer week doesn't technically start until 8 am on Monday morning. Makes sense, right? As part of the Custody Agreement, Typhon insists that I have to do all custody exchanges m

Friday, July 17, 2026 - Wage Garnishment and Girl Scout Camp
As part of the Divorce Agreement, Typhon agreed to sign an Income Deduction Order so that his wages would be garnished and I wouldn’t have to rely on him paying child support -- it would come directly out of his paycheck instead. Unsurprisingly, as soon as the divorce was finalized, Typhon reneged on that agreement and absolutely refused to sign any Income Deduction Order. My attorney, Atticus, filed a motion to have an Income Deduction Order entered against him a few week

The Story of Us
In 2009, I met the man I thought I would spend the rest of my life with. He was handsome, funny, and seemed completely devoted to me. He was somewhat arrogant, but I naively thought that was simply self-confidence. I couldn't have been more wrong. Typhon turned out to be a textbook narcissist, as well as suffering from bipolar disorder and ADHD. Although I know I am smart and, before I met Typhon at least, I outwardly projected myself as a strong, independent woman,

Navigating Life After a Narcissistic Ex
Part of the reason it took me so long to leave my narcissistic ex was the fear of what waited for me on the other side. Now that I have left, I can say without a doubt that leaving that toxic relationship was the best decision I ever made. Even so, this new world I find myself in has been filled with uncertainty and emotional turmoil. Part of it has been due to the ongoing antics of my ex, which you'll read about in this blog. Part of it has been learning to navigating as
